Commit Diary: Mustipher's Musings
So I'm a week removed from my official visit to Notre Dame. I feel like this recruiting class has the makings to be something very special. We bonded and our personalities meshed amongst each other. Not only amongst each other but with the older guys as well. We had an opportunity to watch the Echoes and I realized in four to five years that will be me walking across that stage. We watched practice, sat in on meetings, asked questions and got to spend quality time with the Notre Dame family as a whole. We had a photo shoot which was more or less the highlight of the weekend with Jimmy Byrnes stealing the show with his Heisman pose. The food could rival that as the highlight though as our training table brought the fire all weekend. Overall it was just a great weekend and I'm beginning to realize the reality that I am blessed with the opportunity to suit up in that blue and gold. Throughout this week, I was swamped with finals. But, the three commits we added to Golden Army '14 at the beginning of the week provided a nice boost of energy. I did double time throughout the week in preparation for the upcoming Under Armour Game. I'm excited to showcase my talents and abilities against the best of the best. I understand it will be a challenge but I could not have prepared myself any better. I will represent the Notre Dame family and my community well. I just got home from the Maryland Crab Bowl where I was supporting my teammates. Washington won 30-21 against Baltimore and it was a good game. Now I have to pack as I am leaving tomorrow for Miami for a family vacation. I realize this is the last time I'll be able to see my family in Miami for a while so I am looking forward to making some lasting memories. I hope everybody has a safe and happy holidays. As always, Go Irish! Sam
