Irish LB commit talks about Texas offer

Irish linebacker commit and Texas native Kolin Hill talks about his newest offer from the Longhorns, and where he stands with his pledge to Notre Dame with less than two weeks until National Signing Day.

Schertz (Texas) Clemons linebacker Kolin Hill visited the Longhorns before he committed to Notre Dame in December. At the time, Hill could not claim a Texas offer

However, new Texas head coach Charlie Strong decided to offer the Irish linebacker commit on Saturday.

"I was kind of expecting it because [Longhorns assistant] Coach (Vance) Bedford came by my school not too long ago," Hill said. "And, he hinted that it would probably be coming. Coach Strong called me today and offered."

Shortly after Hill got off the phone with Strong, he received a call from his recruiter at Notre Dame, assistant coach and cornerbacks coach Kerry Cooks.

"Coach Cooks was just asking if I was still solid," Hill said. "I told him that I was, but that I wasn't sure if I'm going to visit Texas. I realize I've got to talk to my dad about it first. He's on a business trip right now."

Notre Dame will be visiting Hill on Monday, and Texas will stop by his home some point next week.

Hill was also offered by Vanderbilt on Friday, though he has no interest in the Commodores at this time. Top Stories
