All Irish: Jhonny Williams

In the 16th of its series, Notre Dame big skill commitment Jhonathon Williams of Berrien Springs (Mich.) High is broken down with a recruitment recap and player analysis. Williams, at 6'6", 245 has outstanding speed to size ratio, and with offers late in the game from Michigan and Notre Dame, has potential to be a huge sleeper.

Location: Berrien Springs (Mich.) High

Rank: No. 51 ranked defensive end, Four-star

Quick Hit:

"Jhonathon Williams was a basketball player who made a good and fateful decision coming out for football his sophomore year. He had a good junior year, but the recruiting attention was slow to come. His day came though at Michigan State's camp, where he had a big performance both in testing and in one-on-ones. Following that performance, several MAC schools like Toledo and Bowling Green offered scholarships. He would commit to the Rockets several weeks later.

After the Missouri Tigers offered him in July, he decided to re-open his recruitment. Other programs watched him closely through the early part of the season, but no new offers came. He visited Mizzou in late September and made his commitment to the Tigers official. After a good senior season, he landed November offers from Michigan and Notre Dame. After taking an official visit to Notre Dame, he canceled a planned visit to Ann Arbor and chose the Irish citing distance as a primary factor." – Allen Trieu

Notable Quotable:

"I weigh 245-pounds right now, and Coach VanGorder said he likes me for outside linebacker. I guess I'm still pretty raw right now, so I'm going to work a lot on my shape and technique this spring before I get to Notre Dame. I'm not going to add a lot of weight because Coach doesn't want me losing any speed. I run a 4.5 forty right now." – Williams
