Notre Dame has offered 12 wide receivers and tight ends thus far in the class of 2015. Inside is a breakdown of those prospects, including where the Irish stand with each and how many wide receivers and tight ends the Irish plan to take in this recruiting cycle.
(O'Malley): None of Notre Dame
's nine scholarship receivers exhaust their eligibility at season's end, and with six signed in the last two classes, no more than two are necessary for 2015.
Notre Dame has offered 12 wide receivers thus far in 2015. (Prospects with stars before their names are ones that could very plausibly end up at Notre Dame, as things stand with their recruitment in this point in time).
Cordell Broadus (6'1", 185)
Attending Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas, Nevada this year, Broadus expressed interest in the Irish when he was offered in October. However, given his background, it's hard to see Broadus ending up somewhere outside of California
, or the west coast. It would not be surprising if he took visit to Notre Dame.
George Campbell (6'4", 185)
From Tarpon Springs, Fla., Campbell has opened things back up since decommiting from Michigan after the Wolverines' poor season. Campbell has taken visits to Florida and North Carolina this spring, but otherwise is being quiet on the recruiting trail. Campbell plans to narrow his list sometime this summer.
Michael Chigbu (6'2", 210)
From New Orleans, La., Chigbu is likely to stay in the south, especially if he hauls in an offer from LSU.
***Jalen Guyton (6'1", 185)
From Allen, Texas, Guyton is fan of the Irish, and he's expressed legitimate interest in taking a visit. Guyton is visiting a handful of schools this spring, so should he not make it to Notre Dame in the next few months, it will be intriguing to see how if Guyton follows through on his intentions to visit the Irish.
K.J. Hill (6'1", 180)
From Little Rock, Ark., Hill is favoring the in-state Razorbacks as well as Alabama and Auburn at this point in his recruitment.
***John Humphrey (5'11", 165)
From League City, Texas, Humphrey was offered by Notre Dame as an athlete and could also project as a defensive back. Humphrey plans to visit Notre Dame this spring, and he's fully engaged in what Notre Dame has offer.
Christian Kirk (5'10", 195)
From Scottsdale, Ariz., Kirk is one of the top ranked wide receivers in the 2015 class and holds a lengthy offer list. Kirk visited USC and UCLA this spring, and he doesn't plan on making a decision until after his five official visits in the fall.
***Malik Lovette (5'11", 175)
From Redlands, Calif., Lovette was offered by Notre Dame on Monday. If he doesn't visit the Irish this spring, he plans on taking an official visit.
***Ryan Newsome (5'9", 170)
From Aledo, Texas, Newsome was highly receptive of Notre Dame's offer and will likely visit before he looks to narrow his list down.
***Alex Ofodile (6'3", 190)
From Columbia, Mo., Ofodile is quickly becoming a national recruit. He is high on Missouri (where his dad played) as well as Oklahoma, though he's one to truly feel out the recruiting process and seems like a good fit personality wise with the Irish.
Calvin Ridley (6'2", 170)
From Coconut Creek, Fla., Ridley is one of best athletes in the 2015 class and can also play cornerback. Ridley's top two right now are Alabama and Miami.
***Equanimeous St. Brown (6'4", 200)
From Servite, Ca., St. Brown has a top three of Notre Dame, Stanford and USC. He's taken unofficial visits to both Stanford and USC, and is planning on visiting Notre Dame this spring or summer. St. Brown is one to keep an eye on because he plans on making a decision before the start of his senior year.
(O'Malley): Two have joined both of the last two classes after the Irish failed to sign a tight end for 2012. Two more in 2015 would secure the position for the long-term especially if one from the pair could switch sides of scrimmage (a la Tyler Luatua
from the '14 crop).
One would suffice as well as that would give Kelly's offense five tight ends entering the 2015 season, all of whom would have at least three seasons of eligibility remaining.
Notre Dame has offered four tight ends thus far in the class of 2015.
Devonaire Clarington (6'6", 220)
From Miami, Fla., Clarington is favoring Alabama and Miami.
***Chris Clark (6'6", 247)
From Avon, Conn., Clark is a Notre Dame legacy. He has a top five of Auburn, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio State. The Irish are sitting in great position right now.
Jordan Davis (6'4", 250)
From Houston, Texas, Davis is a Texas A&M commit.
Alize Jones (6'5", 215)
From Las Vegas, Nev., Jones is a UCLA commit.
