2015 prospects: defensive end

Notre Dame has offered defensive ends thus far in 2015. Inside is a breakdown of where Notre Dame stands with the top targets on its board at the position and how many you can expect Notre Dame to sign in 2015.

Defensive end

Numbers (O'Malley): If sophomore Isaac Rochell and true freshmen Andrew Trumbetti are considered true defensive ends in the new scheme, the immediate need is lessened further.

Look for the Irish to target 1-2 defensive ends and an outside linebacker in this class. More is superfluous (barring the unlikely event an assembly line of top talent asks to join).

Prospects (Hickey): Prospects with stars before their names are players that could very plausibly end up Irish as it currently stands with their recruitment.

Louis Brown (6'6", 207) From Burton, Texas, Brown is a Baylor commit.

Austin Bryant (6'4", 225) From Thomasville, Ga., Bryant's top two are Clemson and Florida State.

***Jashon Cornell (6'3.5", 245) From Saint Paul, Minn., Cornell is a huge priority for Notre Dame. He visited last season for the USC game. Michigan, Ohio State and Notre Dame are all in good position, though the Irish may be the team to beat out at this point.

Byron Cowart (6'4", 246) From Seffner, Fla., Cowart is high on Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Oregon and USC>

Hjalte Froholdt (6'5", 256) From Warren, Ohio, Froholdt is an Arkansas commit.

***Rasheem Green (6'5", 269) From Gardena, Calif., Green is interested in checking out Notre Dame, along with Alabama, Florida and Miami. He's also considering UCLA and USC. He hasn't named a leader, and he plans to commit at an All-American game next year.

CeCe Jefferson (6'3", 245) From Glen Saint Mary, Fla., Jefferson is favoring Florida and has not yet expressed interest in Notre Dame.

***James Lockhart (6'4", 250) From Ennis, Texas, Lockhart saw Notre Dame play Arizona State in Dallas. The Irish offered Lockhart in September, before he received much of the national attention that he has now. It looks promising for the Irish to receive a visit from Lockhart at some point, who hasn't named any leaders.

***Keisean Lucier-South (6'5", 220) From Orange, Calif., Lucier-South is being recruited hardest by Michigan, Notre Dame, Tennessee, UCLA and USC. UCLA is the only school to receive a visit from him thus far, and he plans to take all of his officials.

***Scott Patchan (6'5", 240) From Tampa, Fla., Patchan was offered by Notre Dame in the fall, and as of recently he had not planned a spring visit to Notre Dame, but he said the possibility of a visit is still in the works. He has not named any leaders, but he plans to make a decision before his senior year starts.

Natrez Patrick (6'3", 228) From Atlanta, Ga., Patrick has a top three of Alabama, Auburn and Georgia.

Darien Roseboro (6'5", 265) From Lincolnton, N.C., Roseboro is likely going to be a tough pull from the east coast.
