Irish ACC foes announced for 2015

Duke and Clemson join partner programs Boston College, Georgia Tech, as home-and-home matchups for Mike Brey's Irish next winter.

The Notre Dame basketball program is about to become well-acquainted with the Research Triangle.

A return trip to Chapel Hill, North Carolina to face the Tar Heels and the program's first appearance in Durham and legendary Cameron Indoor Stadium as members of the Athletic Coast Conference highlight the Irish road slate next season.

Head coach Mike Brey and his squad will also travel to Raleigh to take on North Carolina State. The Irish played each member of the Triangle trio last season, losing twice to North Carolina, falling at home to North Carolina State, and upsetting Duke in South Bend -- the lone highlight of the program's initial season of ACC play.

Additional road games include two former Big East rivals, 2013 NCAA champion Louisville and long-time program foe Pittsburgh.

Notre Dame finished 1-8 in ACC road games last fall (6-12 overall) after winning 16 of its last 30 Big East road games including seven wins over foes ranked among the nation's top 25.

The Irish home slate is highlighted by an appearance from the Syracuse Orange and defending ACC champion, Virginia.

A mid-December tilt vs. Florida State is expected to tip-off conference play for both teams, more than two weeks before league play gets into full swing.
