NOTRE DAME, Ind. (IE) – The Irish depth at tailback is being sorely tested by injuries

. Not only are Tony Fisher, Terrance Howard and Julius Jones hobbled, but now Chris Yura and freshmen Ryan Grant and Marcus Wilson are hurt.

Yura has a hyperextended elbow, Grant has a hamstring and Wilson a sprained ankle. All were sidelined during Monday's practice.

Fisher, Howard and Jones did take part in some drills, however. Fullbacks Tom Lopienski, Jason Murry and Mike McNair also doubled as tailbacks.

Sean Milligan, who was thought to have the early edge at guard over converted tackle John Teasdale, also has been hobbled. Bob Davie said he has cartilage problems in his knee which has limited his workouts.

Davie has changed the scrimmage time. Orginially scheduled for Saturday morning, it will be held Sunday night, apparently to track the kickoff time of the Irish opener against Nebraska at 7 p.m.
