Weber and Irish reestablish contact

Running back Mike Weber of Detroit (Mich.) Cass Tech once again has the Irish on his short list.

Four-star running back Mike Weber of Detriot (Mich.) Cass Tech has visited Notre Dame three times throughout his recruitment, but the last time he stepped foot on campus dates back to last summer.

"I visited a lot and really liked Notre Dame last year," Weber said. "The last time I was there I was led to believe that I was going to receive an offer from the offensive coordinator, but obviously that didn't happen. From then on, I didn't really talk to Notre Dame."

Recently though, Weber and the Irish have started to rekindle their relationship.

"I spoke with Coach (Tony) Alford a couple days ago, and we had a good talk," Weber said. "He said it was all a misunderstanding and he wants to continue building our relationship. He said if we continue to stay in a good position with each other, and I visit campus, talk of an offer could happen."

Weber plans to visit Notre Dame on June 20 for camp. He also plans on camping at Florida and Florida State.

"Notre Dame is known for being a winning program and being a great school," Weber said. "You can get a great degree from there and really be set."

The 5-foot-10, 210-pound running back plans to take official visits and announce his final decision at the Army Bowl next year.

"Right now I like Wisconsin, Michigan State, Ohio State and Notre Dame," Weber said. "I'm going to wait on a decision though because anything can happen and there's a lot of time left."

Weber is a four-star prospect and is ranked as the No. 15 running back in the class of 2015. Top Stories
