Daniels, Grant to rejoin Irish

Notre Dame's football team and men's basketball team received a boost today with the return of suspended senior stars.

Notre Dame wide receiver DaVaris Daniels and men's basketball player Jerian Grant have officially been readmitted to the University after the tandem had been suspended for the 2014 spring semester for (unrelated) academic issues.

Daniels' return allows him to compete with his teammates during June practices while Grant is now eligible to join head coach Mike Brey's Irish on the team's tour of Italy in August. Grant was Notre Dame's leading scorer and assist man prior to his suspension at the conclusion of the 2013 fall semester.

Daniels returns to head coach Brian Kelly's roster as its most productive player and the team's leader in career yards gained from scrimmage (1,231), touchdowns scored (7), and receptions (80).

Kelly noted in mid May he expected Daniels to return to the fold, noting, "He's got to walk the line, he's got to do things the right way. It's not just Notre Dame; it's his career, it's everything now. So I think he knows that all eyes are on him."
