Big Board: Running back

The latest edition of the Big Board takes a look at where Notre Dame stands with one of its positions of emphasis in the 2015 class, running back. Included is where the Irish stand with their top target of the class and what elite prospects will likely be in town for official visits this fall.

Notre Dame has space to take two running backs in the class, and potentially three depending on the third's versatility in the backfield and how dominoes fall at other positions on the recruiting board.

Notre Dame earned a commitment from 6-foot-3, 205-pound running back Josh Adams in June. Adams, who could end up playing linebacker or safety before his career is over at Notre Dame, will bring along power and toughness in the backfield to complement impressive size.

Top prospects on board:

Sotonye Jamabo (Plano, Texas, West) - Notre Dame's No. 1 prospect on its running back board... Will take an official to Notre Dame the weekend of Sept. 7 for the Michigan game... Baylor, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M and UCLA also in contention... Irish in a terrific spot here but will certainly need to maintain the momentum in order to lock him up

Dexter Williams (Orlando, Fla. West Orange) - Miami commit who is still shopping... Irish love his skill set and were squarely in contention to land Williams before he committed to the U... Irish should get an official visit this fall

Cameron Scarlett (Portland, Ore., Central Catholic) - Recently named Notre Dame to his top five (Oregon, Stanford, UCLA, Washington)... Potentially will visit for the Michigan game in the fall before committing somewhere in late October or early November

Aca'cedric Ware (Cedar Hill, Texas, High) - Will commit somewhere this upcoming weekend... Irish in a top four along with Iowa, Ohio State and USC... Trojans the favorite, but expect him to still visit South Bend this fall

Damien Harris - (Berea, Ky. Madison Southern) -'s No. 1 ranked back in this class, Harris has Ohio State out front with Kentucky and Michigan running behind... Notre Dame is still working to get Harris on campus before a looming decision is to be made

Jacques Patrick - (Orlando, Fla., Timber Creek) - Patrick visited Notre Dame twice this summer, including for Irish Invasion... Has Alabama and Florida State out front... Irish in a good place to land an official visit

Nicholas Brossette (Baton Rogue, La, University Lab) - LSU commit who could give Notre Dame an official this fall

Mike Weber (Detroit, Mich., Cass Tech) - No Irish offer, but it's foreseeable he could be next in line to add one
