Mullen planning Notre Dame trip
Notre Dame recently extended an offer to 2016 defensive back Trayvon Mullen of Coconut Creek (Fla.) High. The three-star safety has also added recent offers from Alabama, Auburn, LSU Ohio State, South Carolina and Wisconsin. "I called Coach (Tony) Alford and he told me that I was being offered," Mullen said. "He told me that I would be a good fit both as a person and as a player. He likes that I'm long and have good feet." Mullen has made numerous visits this summer, including to Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Florida State, Kentucky, Ohio State and Tennessee. "I'm open to leaving Florida, so I feel like I need to check out as many schools as I can right now," Mullen said. "I want to find a school that fits me and somewhere where I feel comfortable with a good environment and great people." "I think whether or not I leave Florida I can still become a great ball player and get a great education." Mullen maintains he has no favorites at this time. "I probably will just commit when something feels right and after I talk with my coaches," Mullen said. "I'm not in rush; it will probably be sometime during my junior or senior year." The 6-foot-2, 165-pound safety has plans to visit Notre Dame. "I think I'm going up there in the next couple of weeks, before school starts," Mullen said. "I really want to go up there and check it out and get more information. I know they were in the national championship two years ago, so I know they have a great football program."
