Kraemer Recaps Visit With Irish

As one of the top prospects out of Ohio in the 2016 recruiting class, Tommy Kraemer understands each visit is about taking in as much as possible. The Cincinnati Elder product talks about his recent visit to Notre Dame and what he took away from the visit.

Another trip to Notre Dame gave Tommy Kraemer another chance to see what the Irish had to offer on a game day.

“It was awesome,” said Kraemer. “It was probably the best trip I’ve had in awhile and it was just awesome. There were so many things I got a chance to see and do. When we got there I talked with Coach (Harry) Hiestand for about a half hour in his office and we had a good talk. So I really got to know him better.

“But the whole game day experience, going to the walk and seeing the atmosphere at the stadium was great. The whole place was unreal and just crazy the whole day as we saw an awesome game and to beat anyone 31-0, especially Michigan, it was awesome.”

What all did Kraemer and the Irish offensive line coach discuss?

“We talked about a lot of things,” he said. “We talked about the game against Lakota West the night before and how I did against them. We talked about their game plan for Michigan and talked about how they dealt with the whole day and what they did the night before.

“He then talked about how good of a fit I would be with him as I remind him a lot of Zach Martin and how he really wants to coach me and develop me as he feels he’s the person who can do it and help me on to the NFL.

“I also got to talk with Coach (Brian) Kelly a little bit too and got to talk with several members of the coaching staff and I found that they are a great group of guys.”

Kraemer also spent some time with several other recruits prior to the game.

“I talked with a couple of recruits,” he continued. “I talked with Prince Sammons and Josh Myers as well as quarterback Malik Henry and Jake Hausmann. Both Malik and Jake seem very high on Notre Dame and that is really big for me as I want to be part of a great class.”

Kraemer is looking to visit a few other schools in the coming weeks but also has plans to return to Notre Dame in early October when the Irish battle Stanford. Top Stories
