"He (Elston) said that I was a quick pass-rusher, and that's what he said Notre Dame is missing right now.""I know that it's a great academic school and if you get a diploma from Notre Dame, you definitely have great job opportunities after college." Cooper also holds offers from Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Michigan State. "No favorites right now," Cooper said. "Just learning about more schools." Cooper has one visit set up in the future, and that's to Notre Dame. He visited Ohio State on Sept. 6. "I'm visiting Notre Dame when they play Stanford on Oct. 11," Cooper said. "I'm excited to see their campus and everything and go to a big college football game." "I've seen it (Notre Dame's defense), I think Notre Dame is great at football," Cooper said. "I've been watching them on T.V. this season." Cooper is a four-star prospect and is ranked as the No. defensive end in the class of 2015.
4-star DE adds offer, schedules visit
Notre Dame offered one of the top junior prospects in Ohio on Thursday when it reached out to four-star defensive end Jonathon Cooper of Gahanna (Ohio) Lincoln. "The offer was definitely a surprise," Cooper said. "I didn't expect it at all, and definitely not this early in the season. My high school coach told me I was offered and then I called the defensive line coach (Mike Elston)."
