FSU commit schedules Irish official visit

A four-star Florida State safety commit is set to visit Notre Dame this weekend.

Four-star safety Calvin Brewton of Miami (Fla.) Central told Irish Eyes at the beginning of the month that taking an official visit to Notre Dame as early as October was in the realm of possibility.

The Florida State commit has followed through with such proposition, and he's set to visit Notre Dame this weekend when the Irish take on Stanford.

"I'm interested in seeing their atmosphere, the environment, and how the team plays," Brewton said.

For Brewton, the national exposure that Notre Dame produces for its players is second to none.

"Notre Dame has been a school that I've wanted to visit even before I committed for Florida State," Brewton said an in interview with Irish Eyes on Sept. 3. "Notre Dame is on TV every week. No matter who they play they are on TV. It doesn't get any better than that."

Miami Central has a bye on Friday, so Brewton will travel to Notre Dame on Friday morning. He will make the trip by himself.

The 5-foot-11, 175-pound defensive back visited Florida State on an unofficial visit for the 'Noles game vs. Clemson. Visits to Georgia and Louisville are also possibilities.

Brewton is a four-star prospect and is ranked as the No. 10 safety in the class of 2015.
