Williamson sets announcement date
Defensive back Adonis Williamson of Indianapolis (Ind.) Arsenal Tech will announce his college destination next Thursday, Dec. 11. "I'm deciding between Virginia Tech, Missouri, and Northern Illinois," Williamson said. "I want to go to a good school with a football program that succeeds on the field too." Notre Dame has also entered the picture. The in-state defensive back, who would project as either a safety or corner for the Irish, visited Notre Dame twice in November when the Irish took on Northwestern and Louisville. "The atmosphere there was like no other," Williamson said. "I loved the fan base and thought the routine the players did before the game was great." Notre Dame defensive line coach Mike Elston, who keeps tabs on recruiting in Indianapolis for the Irish, visited Williamson at school on Thursday. "He told me to keep working and that he's going to continue to look at my film," Williamson said. "But, it might be too late because I announce my decision next week." Should Notre Dame offer after he's committed elsewhere, would the 6-foot-1, 185-pound defensive back consider changing his mind? "It depends on how they come at me and what kind of plan they have for me," Williamson said.
