Four-star targets ND visit

Four-star safety JoeJuan Williams and teammate Jeremy Darvin have plans to visit Notre Dame this summer. Williams already holds an offer from the Irish and is eager to learn more about the school.

Four-star safety JoeJuan Williams has a big summer ahead of him.

The 6-foot-3, 195-pounder from Father Ryan High School in Nashville, Tenn., will work hard to narrow his list of potential colleges while also preparing for his senior season at a new high school. After moving, Williams will play his senior season at Hendersonville High School.

“I’m finishing off the year here at Father Ryan,” said Williams, who holds scholarship offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, LSU, Michigan State, Ohio State and Notre Dame, among others. “I’m not doing spring football now because I’m transferring.”

Williams is eager to join his new team, which finished last season 10-1 after falling in the state semifinals. He believes he can help the Commandos take the next step.

“I just want to win a state championship,” he said. “They did good last year but they lost in the semis.”

College coaches are eager to have Williams help them win championships at the next level.

He holds more than two dozen offers and has even more schools trying to get him to visit their campus.

Williams plans to see several this summer, including Notre Dame.

“I’m going to visit soon but I forgot the date,” he said. “I just know I’m going to be up there for a visit in the summer.”

Williams, who will visit South Bend with Father Ryan teammate Jeremy Darvin, a defensive tackle, also plans to see Florida State and several others.

He hopes to use those visits to help him to narrow his list.

“I’ll probably do that by the end of summer when I get all my visits and stuff like that,” he said. “That should be a good time.”

Most schools are recruiting him to play safety but Williams is open to anything.

“I’ve got some offers at corner and some offers at safety, wherever they feel like I’m good at,” he said. “It doesn’t really matter to me at all.”

A member of Notre Dame’s coaching staff visited Father Ryan last week but Williams wasn’t sure which coach it was.

“I didn’t see them but I heard they stopped by,” he said. “I haven’t really talked to them in a while.”
