Anthony Fasano Pledges Notre Dame

Anthony Fasano chose Notre Dame over 17 other schools this past weekend. Why did Anthony choose the Irish? Why is Virginia so high on the families list? Take a look.

"I just kept comparing every school to Notre Dame so I figured why should I keep doing that. I've always wanted to go to Notre Dame so I verbally committed." Anthony Fasano said. "Virginia was a close second. I loved the campus in Charlottesville and I liked the city. I liked Virginia's education but everyone knows what a Notre Dame degree can do for you.

I'm going to visit unofficially for the West Virginia game and my official visit will be the second week in December."

Fasano had 18 scholarship offers. Others in the hunt were Syracuse, West Virginia, Tennessee, Penn State, Michigan State and Georgia Tech.

Wendy Fasano couldn't be happier for her son.

It's always been Anthony's dream to play for Notre Dame. You really have to pinch me because I still can't believe this is happening. I'm Irish so this is great. I really think when Anthony went to Notre Dame's camp this summer, he liked the campus and the religious aspect of the school.

I'll tell you what. We also liked Virginia a lot and when they found out that Anthony had committed to Virginia, (Head) coach (Al) Groh called us and congratulated us and told us we made a great choice, wished us well and said they would love to have him but if they couldn't, they're happy its Notre Dame. Virginia will always be high on my list now."

Fasano was named 2nd team all state as a junior. The Irish have done extremely well on the East Coast as of late. Fasano will join Wayne Hills quarterback, Chris Olsen as a Notre Dame verbal commitment from New Jersey.
