Commit & Target Recap

Track the weekend results of Notre Dame’s commitments and a few important targets. Ian Book, Brock Wright, Tony Jones and Jamir Jones were among the Irish standouts.

Ian Book
In a 54-42 loss to Sparks (Nev.) Reed, Book was 25-of-34 for 419 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions. He had 26 yards rushing. Oak Ridge (3-1) dropped its first game of the season.

Parker Boudreaux 
Bishop Moore (4-0) demolished Poinciana 69-0 to improve to 4-0.

Chase Claypool  
Down 19 points in the fourth quarter, Abbotsford (B.C.) rallied to defeat cross-town rival W.J. Mouat 39-36 and improve to 2-0. Claypool accounted for 14 points in the fourth quarter, including the go-ahead score on a receiving touchdown.

Liam Eichenberg 
Four-star running back D’Andre Swift scored three touchdowns and ran for 188 yards against St. Ignatius (2-2) in a 35-6 loss to St. Joseph's Prep. The Wildcats trailed 35-0 before scoring on a 27-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Jalen Elliott  
Elliott threw for 84 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 67 yards and another score as L.C. Bird (4-0) routed Manchester, 35-0.

Dillan Gibbons '17 
Tampa (Fla.) Northside Christian defeated Foundation Academy 29-9 to improve to 4-0.

Jamir Jones 
Jones recorded eight tackles, including two for a loss, two sacks and broke up three passes as Aquinas Institute (3-0) took a 27-7 win over St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute. He also had a touchdown reception erased due to penalty.

Tony Jones 
Jones went over 100 yards and had one touchdown for IMG Academy (4-1) as it traveled to New Jersey and beat Bergen Catholic, 59-47. 

Tommy Kraemer
Elder rallied but couldn’t come all the way back from a 31-7 fourth quarter deficit in a 31-20 loss to St. Edward. Elder (3-1) rushed for just 29 yards in the game.

Julian Love
Love and Nazareth Academy (3-1) suffered 34-19 loss to Marian Central Catholic, which snapped a 17-game program win streak. Love piled up about 17 tackles on defense. He added rushing and receiving touchdowns. 

Josh Lugg '17 
A 28-yard touchdown with 37 seconds remaining lifted North Allegheny (2-1) to an upset of Pittsburgh Central Catholic, the state’s top-ranked team. The backs running behind Lugg finished with 39 carries for 276 yards.

Ade Ogundeji 
Walled Lake Central fell to 0-4 with a 17-0 loss to Kettering. Ogundeji exited in the first quarter with an injury and didn't return to action. 

Julian Okwara 
Charlotte (N.C.) Ardrey Kell (2-2) had a bye this week.

Spencer Perry 
Spencer's secondary got battered by Tennessee quarterback commitment Jarrett Guarantano’s 379 yards and four scores.. But that didn't keep IMG Academy from nabbing a 59-47 win at Bergen Catholic. 

John Shannon 
Loyola Academy improved to 4-0 with a 54-16 win at Fenwick. Shannon's defense has allowed just 24 points total so far this season with two shutouts. 

Kevin Stepherson
Jacksonville First Coast (1-2) earned its first win of the season with a 64-0 beat down of Arlington Country Day. Stepherson had four catches for 79 yards, including two touchdowns. One of those scores came from 55 yards out.

Brock Wright '17 
Wright scored his first touchdown of the season to go with seven pancake blocks as Cy-Fair (2-1) demolished Cypress Springs, 56-14.

TARGETS  

Damian Alloway
Alloway had five catches for 170 yards to go with one interception and five tackles at safety in a 42-7 victory for Fontana (Calif.) Summit (3-0) against Alta Loma. Alloway rescheduled his Notre Dame official visit for Nov. 14. It was originally set for Oct. 17 but that’s his homecoming weekend.

Chauncey Gardner 
Gardner rushed for 154 yards and two touchdowns in a 48-6 victory over Lake Highland Prep. Cocoa (Fla.) moves to 3-1 on the season. Gardner,  a Florida commitment and cousin of Tarean Folston, took an official visit to Georgia last weekend. His next visit is to Notre Dame the weekend it plays USC.

Nate Craig
Tampa (Fla.) Catholic (3-1) had a bye over the weekend and Craig took his first official visit to North Carolina. He visits Notre Dame the weekend of Oct. 17. 

Theo Howard
Westlake Village (Calif.) Westlake (3-1) defeated Santa Margarita 21-14 and Howard had two touchdowns. A former Oregon commitment, Howard plans to take visits to Notre Dame, Texas A&M and UCLA. The Trojans are also in the mix.

Jonathan Jones 
Jones had nine tackles, one forced fumble and a 30-yard interception return to help lead Orlando (Fla.) Oak Ridge (5-0) to a 26-14 win over Freedom. Jones will take his official visit to Notre Dame this weekend. 

Carlo Kemp
Kemp had nine tackles in Boulder (Colo.) Fairview's 18-14 loss to Horizon. Fairview is 2-1 on the season and Kemp has 23 tackles in three games. Kemp will visit Michigan next weekend and Notre Dame on Oct. 10. 

Javon McKinley
Corona (Calif.) Centennial (4-0) blew out Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame, 52-0. McKinley took his first official visit to Washington over the weekend. 

Cole Kmet '17 
Kmet made five catches before exiting in the second quarter after a helmet-to-helmet hit, although the injury is considered minor. St. Viator dropped to 1-3 with a 48-0 loss to Joliet Catholic Academy. 

Osiris St. Brown '17 
St. Brown caught three touchdowns for Mater Dei (4-0) as it rolled to a 43-14 win over Upland in a non-league game. His scores came from 19, 20 and 24 yards out, respectively.
