Notre Dame in the NFL: Week 4

Manti Te’o lead the Chargers in tackles, Stephon Tuitt picked up another sack and Kyle Brindza is looking for a new gig. Irish Illustrated recaps the week that was for Notre Dame players in the NFL.

Robert Blanton - safety - Minnesota Vikings

Blanton replaced Andrew Sendejo (inactive) at safety for Minnesota (2-2) in a 23-20 loss to Denver. He had five tackles (four solo) with a pass breakup.

Kyle Brindza - kicker - Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Brindza made a field goal from 42 yards out but missed two more — from 29 and 43 yards, respectively — to go along with another missed extra point as Tampa Bay (1-3) suffered a 37-23 loss to undefeated Carolina. The Bucs cut Brindza on Monday.

Sergio Brown - safety - Jacksonville Jaguars

Brown didn’t make the active roster for Jacksonville (1-3) in a 16-13 loss to Indianapolis after missing practice all week with a calf strain.

David Bruton - safety - Denver Broncos

Bruton totaled four tackles (one solo) as Denver (4-0) captured a 23-20 win over Minnesota.

Jimmy Clausen - quarterback - Chicago Bears

Clausen went back to the Chicago bench as Jay Cutler returned from a hamstring injury to start at quarterback. The Bears (1-3) rallied for a 22-20 victory over Oakland for their first win of the season.

Tyler Eifert - tight end - Cincinnati Bengals

Eifert made three catches for 69 yards on four targets for Cincinnati (4-0) in its 36-21 win over the Chiefs.

Anthony Fasano - tight end - Tennessee Titans

Tennessee (1-2) had its bye week.

Michael Floyd - wide receiver - Arizona Cardinals

Floyd made five catches for 59 yards on seven targets for Arizona (3-1) in a 24-22 loss to St. Louis.

Jonas Gray - running back - Miami Dolphins

Gray had just one carry for zero yards as Miami (1-3) took a 27-14 loss to the Jets in London.

Ryan Harris - offensive tackle - Denver Broncos

Harris shifted to left tackle and started for Denver amid some injuries to the offensive line.

J.J. Jansen - long snapper - Carolina Panthers

Jansen was the featured long snapper again for Carolina (4-0) in its win over Tampa Bay.

TJ Jones - wide receiver - Detroit Lions

Jones returned three punts for 29 yards as Detroit (0-4) suffered a 13-10 loss at Seattle.

Kapron Lewis-Moore - defensive end - Baltimore Ravens

Lewis-Moore made the active roster but didn’t register any statistics as Baltimore (1-3) rallied for a 23-20 win over Pittsburgh in overtime.

Zack Martin - offensive guard - Dallas Cowboys

Martin started at right guard for the Cowboys (2-2) in a 26-20 overtime loss to New Orleans.

Troy Niklas - tight end - Arizona Cardinals

Niklas made the active roster but didn’t make any catches for Arizona in its loss.

Louis Nix - defensive tackle - New York Giants

Nix made the active roster but didn’t record any tackles for the Giants (2-2) in a 24-10 win over Buffalo.

Theo Riddick - running back - Detroit Lions

Riddick had one carry for five yards plus five receptions for 31 yards on five targets in the Detroit loss.

Cody Riggs - cornerback - Tennessee Titans

Tennessee (1-2) had its bye week.

Trevor Robinson - center - San Diego Chargers

Robinson started at center for San Diego (2-2) in a 30-27 win over Cleveland. He made the start in place of a banged up Chris Watt.

Kyle Rudolph - tight end - Minnesota Vikings

Rudolph made two catches for seven yards on four targets in Minnesota’s loss.

Harrison Smith - safety - Minnesota Vikings

Smith had two tackles and intercepted Peyton Manning in Minnesota’s loss to Denver while playing alongside Blanton at the other safety spot.

Golden Tate - wide receiver - Detroit Lions

Tate had three receptions for 29 yards on four targets in the Detroit loss. He added one carry for six yards.

Manti Teo - linebacker -San Diego Chargers

Te’o piled up a team high 13 tackles (all solo) for the Chargers in their win. He had two tackles-for-loss.

Justin Tuck - defensive end - Oakland Raiders

Tuck recorded two tackles and a sack for Oakland (2-2) in a loss to the Bears.

Stephon Tuitt - defensive end - Pittsburgh Steelers

Tuitt turned in another strong performance with 10 solo tackles, a sack and tackle for loss for Pittsburgh (2-2) in its overtime loss to Baltimore.

Darrin Walls - cornerback - New York Jets

Walls didn’t make the active roster for New York (3-1) in its win over Miami.

Chris Watt - center - San Diego Chargers

Watt, who has been nagged by a groin injury this season, didn’t make the active roster for San Diego’s win.

Ian Williams - defensive tackle - San Francisco 49ers

Williams made three tackles for San Francisco (1-3) in a 17-3 loss to Green Bay.

Sam Young - offensive tackle - Jacksonville Jaguars

Young made the active roster but served as a backup again after spelling a banged up Luke Joeckel at left tackle last week. Joeckel started for Jacksonville in its loss. Top Stories
