Commit Recap: Claypool rolls again

Chase Claypool scored three times while Ian Book threw for three touchdowns. Get all the weekend performances from Notre Dame’s 21 verbal commitments.

Ian Book 
Oak Ridge (8-1) defeated Nevada Union, 38-7. Book was 12-of-18 for 207 yards and three touchdowns and one interception. He rushed 10 times for 120 yards.

Parker Boudreaux 
Boudreaux and Orlando (Fla.) Bishop Moore (9-0) defeated Bartow 44-6.

Chase Claypool
Abbotsford (B.C.) (5-1) beat Robert Bateman, 41-14. Claypool had six receptions for 144 yards and three touchdowns. He rushed three times for 80 yards and one touchdown.

Liam Eichenberg 
St. Ignatius (5-3) overcame a 13-0 second quarter deficit to beat St. Xavier, 34-20. With the win, St. Ignatius kept alive its hopes of advancing to the Ohio Division I playoffs.

Jalen Elliott 
Elliott played just a few minutes of the first quarter in a 61-0 win over Wythe. He threw a 40-yard touchdown pass and picked off a pass on defense as L.C. Bird improved to 8-0.

Dillan Gibbons '17 
Tampa (Fla.) Northside Christian (8-0) defeated Indian Rocks Christian 42-21.

Jamir Jones 
Jones caught three passes for 67 yards, including a 53-yard touchdown catch in a 35-14 win for Aquinas Institute (8-0) over Fairport. He also recorded five tackles and two tackles for a loss.

Tony Jones 
IMG Academy (7-0) defeated Paramus Catholic, 28-20. Jones Jr. had a pair of touchdown runs of 59 yards and one yard.

Khalid Kareem
Committing to Notre Dame was the highlight for Kareem as Harrison (7-2) suffered a last-minute loss to undefeated West Bloomfield. Harrison heads to the Michigan Division 2 playoffs against Birmingham Groves (9-0).

Cole Kmet '17 
Kmet played some wildcat quarterback in the last game of his junior season, rushing d13 times for 94 yards in a 49-22 loss to Nazareth Academy. He also had two catches for 27 yards plus five tackles on defense with three tackles-for-loss. St. Viator finished 1-8.

Tommy Kraemer 
Ohio State commitment Kareem Walker rushed for a touchdown but his DePaul Catholic (N.J.) team came up short in a 35-34 overtime loss to Kraemer and the Elder Panthers (6-3).

Julian Love 
Love didn't take it easy on his future teammate, forcing Kmet to fumble and returning it 55 yards for the first touchdown as Nazareth (7-2) rolled to a 49-22 win. Love had rushing touchdowns from 14 and two yards, plus a 13-yard receiving score.

Josh Lugg '17 
North Allegheny (6-1) racked up 307 yards on the ground in a 58-14 win over Greater Latrobe.

D.J. Morgan 
Following a 61-7 win over JSerra Catholic, St. John Bosco (8-0) has now used a running clock in each of its eight games this season. The Braves recorded their 19th straight Trinity League victory. The league is considered the toughest in Southern California.

Ade Ogundeji 
Walled Lake Central (1-8) finished its season with a 23-21 loss to Haslett. Ogundeji missed the last month with a knee injury.

Julian Okwara 
Charlotte (N.C.) Ardrey Kell (5-3) won 44-42 against Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology.

Spencer Perry 
IMG Academy (7-0) defeated Paramus Catholic 28-20. Perry is out for the season with a shoulder injury.

John Shannon 
Shannon had about eight tackles at linebacker for Loyola Academy (9-0) as it capped a perfect regular season with a 49-21 win over Mt. Carmel. Loyola heads into the Illinois Class 8A playoffs as a top seed.

Kevin Stepherson 
Jacksonville (Fla.) First Coast dropped to 2-6 after suffering a 26-20 loss to Atlantic Coast.

Donte Vaughn
Whitehaven’s defense allowed just 124 yards and seven first downs in a 29-6 win over Collierville, moving to 8-1 this season.

Brock Wright '17 
Cy-Fair suffered a 44-7 blowout loss at Cypress Woods, although Wright scored on a 38-yard touchdown reception.
