Victor Abiamiri has had a busy summer. "I've been working at this camp for little kids. It's a football camp and I was a camp counselor. We just teach these guys the beginning techniques of football and it was definitely a lot of fun. Just watching those little guys bang into each other is great."
Victor has also been working with Ambrose at the investment firm. "That also has been great. We're just trying to get a head start in our careers in the business world. We're doing a lot of research on companies and preparing reports. We're making predicitions on where companies will be in the future. It's a great learning experience for both of us."
Abiamiri has also been working out. "We've been doing all the lifting and running. I'm about 250 right now. I not much bigger but I am gaining muscle mass."
The season is nearing and Abiamiri is excited about it. "I can't wait for it. I just want to go up there and perform to the best of my abilities. It's going to be a big challenge for me but I think I'm ready for that next step."
Leaving home will also be hard for Abiamiri. "It will be hard to leave. We have a really close family and this will be the first time anyone has moved away. I'm the baby of the family and I know it's going to be hard on my Mom. She knows that I'm going to a real good place and that the people there will take care of me."
Larning the system will be difficult but probably not as difficult as Victor living up to the expectations many will place upon him. "I know there are a lot of expectations but I'm just going to try my best. I have to be me and not try to live up to anything. I think if I do the best I can that everything will work out in the end. I've just got to do the best I can. Hard work will make everything happen for me."
Speaking to Victor, I could tell he was very excited to get to Notre Dame. "I just want to get started. I'm definitely happy I'm going to Notre Dame. It couldn't have worked out better for me. I'm happy I made my decision and I think Notre Dame is the best place for me. It couldn't have worked out any better."
Abiamiri will have some huge expectations when he gets to Notre Dame. I'm going to guess he is going to meet all those expectations when he finishes. He has a great work ethic and the right attitude to succeed. Best of luck to Victor.
