Notre Dame in the NFL: Wild Card Round

Stephon Tuitt is moving on in the playoffs as the Steelers won their wild card game. Several other former Notre Dame players bowed out in the wild card round. Irish Illustrated has the recap.

Robert Blanton - safety - Minnesota Vikings

Final Stats (regular season): 34 tackles
Blanton ended the season as an active reserve safety for Minnesota in a 10-9 loss to Seattle in the wild card round. Minnesota went 11-5 in the regular season.

Sergio Brown - safety - Jacksonville Jaguars

Final stats: 38 tackles, 1.5 sacks and 2 interceptions
Notes: Brown moved into more of a reserve role as the season went on for Jacksonville, making four starts while appearing in 15 games.
Jacksonville record: 5-11

David Bruton - safety - Denver Broncos

Bruton (broken fibula) is on injured reserve. Denver (12-4) had a bye into the divisional round of the playoffs after winning the AFC West and faces the Steelers this week.

Braxston Cave - center - Detroit Lions

Notes: Cave spent most of the season on the Lions practice squad. He did get signed to the active roster for the regular season finale, but didn’t dress out for the game.
Detroit record: 7-9

Jimmy Clausen - quarterback - Baltimore Ravens  

Final stats: 72 completions on 125 attempts, 739 yards, 2 touchdowns and 4 interceptions
Notes: Clausen made four starts for two teams — Chicago and Baltimore — without collecting a win. Clausen hasn’t won a start since 2010 with Carolina.
Baltimore record: 5-11

Tyler Eifert - tight end - Cincinnati Bengals

Final Stats (regular season): 52 catches, 615 yards, 13 touchdowns
Eifert had five catches for 58 yards on nine targets but the Bengals imploded late en route to an 18-16 loss to Pittsburgh in the wild card round. Cincinnati finished the regular season 12-4.

Anthony Fasano - tight end - Tennessee Titans

Final stats: 42 targets, 26 receptions, 289 yards, 2 touchdowns
Notes: Fasano was the fifth-most targeted receiver in Tennessee this season and second in terms of tight ends on the roster. Delanie Walker saw 133 targets and went over 1,000 yards receiving.
Tennessee record: 3-13

Darius Fleming - linebacker - New England Patriots

New England had a bye after winning the AFC East and will host Kansas City in the divisional round.

Michael Floyd - wide receiver - Arizona Cardinals

Arizona had a bye after winning the NFC West and will host Green Bay this week.

Jonas Gray - running back - Jacksonville Jaguars

Final stats: 45 carries, 176 yards
Notes: Gray appeared in six games for Miami then spent some time on the practice squad before Jacksonville signed him after injuries to their other running backs. He played two games for the Jaguars to round out the season.
Jacksonville record: 5-11

Ryan Harris - offensive tackle - Denver Broncos

Denver had a bye after winning the AFC West. Pittsburgh awaits in the divisional round.

Bennett Jackson - safety - New York Giants

Final stats: N/A
Notes: Jackson spent the season injured reserve while recovering from a torn ACL.
New York record: 6-10

J.J. Jansen - long snapper - Carolina Panthers

The Panthers had a bye after winning the NFC South. They’ll face Seattle this week in the divisional round.

TJ Jones - wide receiver - Detroit Lions

Final stats: 10 receptions, 132 yards, 1 touchdown
Notes: Jones appeared in 10 games as a returner and receiver for the Lions.
Detroit record: 7-9

Ben Koyack - tight end - Jacksonville Jaguars

Final stats: N/A
Notes: Koyack spent his rookie season on the Jaguars practice squad.
Jacksonville record: 5-11

Kapron Lewis-Moore - defensive end - Baltimore Ravens

Final stats: 3 tackles
Notes: Lewis-Moore spent most weeks inactive on game day, appearing just five times.
Baltimore record: 5-11

Zack Martin - offensive guard - Dallas Cowboys

Final stats: 16 starts
Notes: Martin started every game for Dallas at right guard and was named to another Pro Bowl in his second season.
Dallas record: 4-12

Troy Niklas - tight end - Arizona Cardinals

Arizona had a bye this week.

Louis Nix - defensive tackle - New York Giants

Final stats: N/A
Notes: Houston cut Nix after preseason camp. Nix signed with the Giants and dressed for four regular season games without making a tackle.  He also spent time on the Giants practice squad in the second half of the season.
New York record: 6-10

Theo Riddick - running back - Detroit Lions

Final stats: 43 carries, 133 yards; 99 targets, 80 receptions, 697 yards, 3 touchdowns
Notes: Riddick solidified himself as a third down back in Detroit. He was targeted third most on the team, behind only Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate.
Detroit record: 7-9

Cody Riggs - cornerback - Tennessee Titans

Final stats: 14 tackles, 2 passes defensed, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery
Notes: Riggs made the 53-man roster out of camp without getting drafted and ended up suiting up for 11 games during the regular season.
Tennessee record: 3-13

Trevor Robinson - center - San Diego Chargers

Final stats: 13 starts
Notes: Robinson moved into a starter’s role at center for the Chargers after Chris Watt went on injured reserve.
San Diego record: 4-12

Kyle Rudolph - tight end - Minnesota Vikings

Final Stats (regular season): 49 receptions, 495 yards, 5 touchdowns
Rudolph had just one reception for 24 yards as Minnesota fell 10-9 to Seattle.

Kona Schwenke - offensive tackle - Seattle Seahawks

Schwenke remains on injured reserve after suffering a torn ACL during camp. Seattle moved on in the playoffs with a 10-9 over Minnesota in the wild card round.

Harrison Smith - safety - Minnesota Vikings

Final Stats (regular season): 66 tackles, 1.5 sacks
Smith had three tackles and a pass breakup for the Vikings in their 10-9 loss to the Seahawks.

John Sullivan - center - Minnesota Vikings

Sullivan finished the season on injured reserve after suffering a back injury that required surgery early in the season.

Golden Tate - wide receiver - Detroit Lions

Final stats: 128 targets, 90 receptions, 813 yards, 6 touchdowns
Notes: Tate was the clear No. 2 option behind Calvin Johnson with the second-most targets on the team. He actually finished with more receptions by two.
Detroit record: 7-9

Manti Te’o - linebacker - San Diego Chargers

Final stats: 83 tackles, 0.5 sacks, 2 passes defensed, 1 interception, 1 forced fumble
Notes: Te’o led the Chargers in tackles despite missing four games during the middle of the season. He started in all 12 of his appearances.
San Diego record: 4-12 

Justin Tuck - defensive end - Oakland Raiders

Final stats: 14 tackles, 1 sack
Notes: Tuck started the first give games of the season for Oakland before going on injured reserve with a torn pectoral.
Oakland record: 7-9

Stephon Tuitt - defensive end - Pittsburgh Steelers

Tuitt had three tackles for Pittsburgh in an 18-16 win over the Bengals, setting a matchup with Denver this week in the divisional round.

Final stats: 10 tackles
Notes: Walls appeared in 13 games as a reserve cornerback and special teams player.
New York record: 10-6

Chris Watt - center - San Diego Chargers

Final stats: 3 starts
Notes: Watt made three starts at center and dressed for a couple more games before going on injured reserve with a shoulder injury.
San Diego record: 4-12

Ian Williams - defensive tackle - San Francisco 49ers

Final stats: 65 tackles, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery
Notes: Williams turned in a strong season on the 49ers defensive line, finishing tied for fourth on the team in tackles while suiting up for all 16 games.
San Francisco record: 5-11

Cierre Wood - running back - Buffalo Bills

Final stats: 2 carries, 3 yards
Notes: Wood popped up on the Buffalo roster in October, appearing in two games before going on injured reserve with a torn ACL.
Buffalo record: 8-8

Sam Young - offensive tackle - Jacksonville Jaguars

Final stats: Three starts
Notes: Young spent most of the season as a reserve tackle for Jacksonville but made three starts, including the season finale.
