K’Jakrye Daley reschedules Irish visit

A pass rusher with offers from every Power Five conference has pushed back his visit to Notre Dame. But the Irish should remain optimistic about their chances of landing him.

Riviera Beach (Fla.) Suncoast three-star defensive end K'Jakyre Daley is no longer expected in South Bend this weekend.

“I was originally going to visit this weekend with my coach, but we booked the flight too late,” Daley said. “When we went to book it, it was like $600. So we are going to visit in mid-July, and now my dad is going to come too.”

Daley’s intentions to announce a commitment this summer haven’t changed.

“I’m going to have to push it back now,” Daley said. “I’m still going to decide before my season starts. I will probably visit Oklahoma after Notre Dame, like maybe in August.”

The 6-foot-3, 215-pound defensive end also holds offers from Arizona, California, Indiana, Iowa State, Kentucky, Louisville, Mississippi State, Missouri, Oklahoma, Rutgers, Syracuse, Tennessee, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin.

Notre Dame offered Daley in May. His cousin is Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) safety Amari Carter, who will visit Notre Dame this weekend.

“I honestly was waiting for the Florida offer, but when I got offered by Notre Dame, my dad said I didn’t have to wait for UF anymore,” said Daley days after adding an Irish offer. “Notre Dame is legendary for football and education. It’s a powerhouse, all-in-one. They’ve been to the BCS Championship recently and they put really good players in the league.”
