Notre Dame in the NFL: Week 6

Golden Tate posted a breakout performance and Michael Floyd found the end zone late in Week 6 action. Irish Illustrated takes you around the NFL from a Notre Dame perspective.

Arizona: WR Michael Floyd, TE Troy Niklas

Floyd found playing time hard to come by early, but made two catches for 22 yards and a touchdown in Arizona’s 28-3 win over the Jets. He scored from nine yards out in the fourth quarter to give the Cardinals (3-3) their final touchdown. Niklas (wrist) is on injured reserve.

Baltimore: OT Ronnie Stanley, DE Kapron Lewis-Moore

Stanley, who’s the starting left tackle for the Ravens, was inactive for the third straight week while battling a foot injury. Baltimore dropped to 3-3 with a 27-23 loss to the Giants. Lewis-Moore is on the practice squad.

Buffalo: S Robert Blanton

Blanton served as one of four captains Buffalo (4-2) in a 45-16 win over the 49ers. He didn’t register a tackle in the game.

Carolina: LS J.J. Jansen

It’s been a rough go for Jansen and the Panthers. They’re 1-5 after a 41-38 loss to New Orleans on a field goal as time expired.

Cincinnati: TE Tyler Eifert, CB KeiVarae Russell

Eifert (back) and Russell were again inactive for Cincinnati (2-4) in a 35-17 loss to New England. Russell has yet to play for the Bengals since being claimed off waivers. Eifert, who also had offseason ankle surgery and hasn’t played this season, should be close to returning.

Cleveland: George Atkinson III

Atkinson returned one kick for 19 yards as Cleveland dropped to 0-6 with a 28-26 loss to the Titans.

Dallas: WR Chris Brown, OL Zack Martin, LB Jaylon Smith

Martin started at right guard for Dallas (5-1) in its 30-16 win over Green Bay. Smith is on the reserve/non-football injury list. Brown, an undrafted free agent signing, is on injured reserve for the season after breaking his foot in preseason practice.

Detroit: RB Theo Riddick, WR Golden Tate, TJ Jones

Riddick (ankle) didn’t suit up for Detroit (3-3) in a 31-28 win over Los Angeles. Tate, on the other hand, exploded for 165 yards receiving and one touchdown on eight catches. Tate scored from 28 yards out in the fourth quarter to make it a 28-28 game. He had a 61-yard catch along the way. Jones remains on the Detroit practice squad.

Houston: WR Will Fuller, OL Nick Martin

Fuller (hamstring) made the active roster but didn’t play for Houston (4-2) in a 26-23 win over Indianapolis. Martin is on injured reserve after preseason ankle surgery.

Indianapolis: DB Matthias Farley

Farley made one tackle for Indianapolis (2-4) in a 26-23 loss to the Texans.

Jacksonville: DL Sheldon Day, TE Ben Koyack

Koyack (knee) returned to practice this week after having surgery to repair a torn meniscus. He’d missed the previous two games before last week’s bye. Day didn’t make any tackles for Jacksonville (2-3) in a 17-16 win over the Bears.

Minnesota: TE Kyle Rudolph, S Harrison Smith

Minnesota (5-0) had its bye this week.

New York Giants:  DE Romeo Okwara, LB Ishaq Williams

Okwara made one tackle for the Giants (3-3) in their 27-23 loss to Baltimore. Williams remains on the practice squad.

Pittsburgh: OT Ryan Harris, DE Stephon Tuitt

Tuitt had three tackles for Pittsburgh (4-2) in a 30-15 loss to Miami. Harris injured his leg in Week 4 and hit injured reserve last week, meaning his season is over.

San Diego: LB Manti Te’o, OL Chris Watt

Te’o is on injured reserve after suffering a season-ending torn Achilles in Week 3. Watt (knee) is on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list, which means he’ll miss the first six weeks of the season at a minimum. San Diego moved to 2-4 with a 21-13 win over Denver.

San Francisco: DL Ian Williams

Williams will miss the entire season after an offseason ankle injury. San Francisco is 1-5 after a 45-16 loss to Buffalo.

Seattle: RB C.J. Prosise

Prosise didn’t make the active roster this week. Seattle moved to 4-1 with a 26-24 win over Atlanta.

Tennessee: TE Anthony Fasano, CB Cody Riggs

Fasano had 15 yards on one catch for Tennessee (3-3) in a 28-26 win over Cleveland. Riggs didn’t make the active roster this week.

Washington: S David Bruton

Bruton hit injured reserve last week after suffering a concussion. He’d started the first four games at safety. Washington is 4-2 after a 27-20 win over the Eagles. Top Stories
