Four-star junior safety Myles Sims landed a scholarship offer from Notre Dame back in October.
The 6-foot-3, 170-pounder from Atlanta also holds offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, Oklahoma and several other top college programs.
That early attention also landed him an invitation to Under Armour’s Future 50 at Disney’s Wide World of Sports complex on Saturday and Sims didn’t waste the opportunity to showcase his talent.
“It went quite well,” Sims said. “I held my own and had a pick (in one-on-ones).”
Sims knew he had to be at his best in going head-to-head with some of the nation’s top wide receivers. He left the event with plenty of confidence and a few new skills.
“I didn't really learn anything about myself because I already know me, I just had go out and ball out,” he said. “I picked up some press-man techniques.”
Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Penn State and Stanford remain in close contact with Sims, who hasn’t heard from the Irish since assistant coach Scott Booker was let go.
“That was the only coach I’ve been in contact with,” Sims said. “He wanted me to come on a visit and told me about the ND degree.”
Sims isn’t ready to name a short list and he hopes to see several schools this spring and during the summer.
Scout.com ranked Sims as the 275th best prospect and the 22nd best safety in the recruiting class of 2018.
