A January offer from Notre Dame prompted three-star cornerback Tre Norwood to back off his commitment to Louisville and use one of his remaining official visits to check out the Irish last weekend.
Norwood, a 5-foot-11, 175-pounder from Fort Smith, Ark., left South Bend on Sunday saying that he felt good about what he saw in South Bend but apparently it wasn’t enough as Norwood committed to Oklahoma on Monday.
“After talking it over with my parents and coaches, I’m extremely excited and blessed to say that I am committing to the University of Oklahoma!” Norwood posted on Twitter.
Irish Illustrated learned Norwood had silently committed to the Sooners over a week ago.
Notre Dame was scheduled to make an in-home visit with Norwood on Thursday.
Scout.com ranks Norwood as the 114th best cornerback in the country.
