Add one more target to the Notre Dame defensive line board in the final week before National Signing Day.
Three-star defensive end Victor Dimukeje reported Tuesday a new Irish scholarship offer. Notre Dame jumps into the mix eight days before signing day in hopes of scoring an official visit this weekend, the last opening for prospects to take such trips before the upcoming dead period.
As of now, Dimukeje doesn’t have an official visit on the schedule for this week.
Dimukeje has taken trips to Michigan State and Duke the last two weeks. Virginia Tech played host in early December. Others involved include in-state Maryland and Rutgers.
In recent days before the Notre Dame offer, Dimukeje told Scout.com that he was close to a decision.
Scout.com ranks Dimukeje, a 6-foot-2, 254-pound prospect, as a top 100 defensive end nationally. Pittsburgh, Baylor, Boston College, Indiana, Iowa State, Marshall, Missouri, Navy, Purdue, Temple, Wake Forest, Virginia and West Virginia are some other programs to offer during the process.
