Thaxton Has Great Start to Season

Hartwell, GA is home to linebacker prospect Jae Thaxton. The 6-2, 220-pound linebacker helped his Hartwell County high school team to their first win in their opening game of the season recording 21 tackles. Thaxton has an impressive list of offers but hasn't given much thought to his favorites at this point. Will the Irish make the final cut?

Jae Thaxton is a hot prospects. He has eight official offers so far. "Notre Dame, Florida State, Florida, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee and Auburn have offered me so far," Thaxton said. "A bunch of schools have called me. Tennessee, Miami, Notre Dame, Clemson, Auburn. Coach Simmons from Notre Dame called but I wasn't home. I've only spoken with coaches from Auburn and Tennessee so far."

Thaxton says the plan is to wait. "I haven't made up my mind what I want to do. I haven't really even thought about it. I will start to narrow it down by the end of my season and take my visits after my season. I really don't know who I will visit."

Notre Dame is one likely destination. "I'm pretty sure I will make it to Notre Dame. I want to see the school and see what it's like. I will probably take a visit there after my season."

Thaxton's team got off to a good start with their first win. "We played last Friday. We played real well and won 10-0. I had 21 tackles so I did pretty well."

Comments. Thaxton is far from narrowing down his list. He seems wide open and not concerned with recruiting in the slightest. Irish fans will have to wait for a long time before he makes his decision. Hopefully Notre Dame will be in the race. Top Stories
