Tisdale lands Irish offer

Notre Dame was active in North Carolina on Tuesday. The Irish offered two linebackers including four-star prospect Alan Tisdale.

Notre Dame has been aggressive in recruiting top talent in the class of 2018.

The Irish already have commitments from six top prospects and have targeted several others including four-star outside linebacker Alan Tisdale, who landed an offer on Wednesday.

“Blessed to receive an offer from Notre Dame,” Tisdale posted on Twitter.

The 6-foot-3, 210-pounder from Greensboro, N.C., already held offers from North Carolina, N.C. State, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and Purdue, among others.

Notre Dame defensive coordinator Mike Elko and linebackers coach Clark Lea began recruiting Tisdale when they were part of the Wake Forest coaching staff.

Tisdale has recorded more than 100 tackles in each of the past two seasons at Page High School.

“Tisdale is a long, athletic linebacker who can cover a lot of ground quickly,” said Scout.com Southeast Analyst Michael Clark. “He is an effective pass rusher and also plays the run well. Tisdale is comfortable in pass coverage and also has good ball skills. He is still raw, but has a huge upside and his best football is definitely ahead of him.”
