Class of 2018
Position: Wide Receiver/Safety/Kick Returner
Top Offers: Arizona, Cal, Louisville, UCLA
Holland plays on both sides of the ball at Bishop O’Dowd and excels wherever he lines up, including on special teams, but Notre Dame prefers him on defense at safety where he recorded 50 tackles with three interceptions and five pass deflections. He averaged more than 31 yards on his 12 receptions in 2016 and scored eight touchdowns. He also returned five punts for scores as a junior and could greatly improve the Irish’s special teams units.
“It feels great knowing that I'm stepping into the light and my options are expanding,” Holland said of the Notre Dame offer.
Holland visited UCLA and USC last weekend and he had two former Bishop O’Dowd teammates sign with USC earlier this month, so the Irish are going to have their work cut out for them to pull him out of California.
Notre Dame already has landed a commitment from Derrik Allen at safety. The Irish hope to land four defensive backs, one more cornerback and one more safety.
