Class of 2018
Top offers: Michigan, Texas, USC
Cornerback is probably the biggest position of need for Notre Dame in the Class of 2018. None signed with the Irish last cycle after late defections from four-star prospects Paulson Adebo and Elijah Hicks. Jamison, one of the top cornerbacks in Texas, has all the tools to be the type of prospect defensive backs coach Todd Lyght would like to land. He can run — 40-yard dash time in the 4.5-second range — and cover with a dose of high end athleticism. Jamison had a top five NIKE rating at The Opening Regional in Houston. At a position of great need, he’s plenty talented enough to justify an offer.
“We absolutely love this guy’s game. The defensive backfield at Lamar is just sick. Jamison is an absolute ball hawk. He is so quick and agile that he makes up ground in an instant. There were a couple times that I caught myself watching him and forgot that I was even trying to record his reps. His offer list is pretty good, but not long enough. He can play for any program in the country. He is a highlight machine on defense.” - Greg Powers, Scout.com national analyst
Jamison recently released a top 10 with Duke, Florida, Michigan, Ole Miss, Missouri, Penn State, TCU, Tennessee, Texas and USC making the cut. It’s unclear how new offers, like Notre Dame, will impact that list as it’s still early. Texas recently hosted Jamison for a Junior Day and some think the Longhorns could be edging out front of the pack.

Three. Notre Dame needs cornerbacks in the worst way and has told prospects at other positions it is their primary focus. Four-star prospect Kalon Gervin is already on board with a commitment. But in the interest of building up more options, it makes sense to keep expanding the board. Houston Griffith is another top target at the position He could end up at safety in the long term.
