Dallas Gant has set a finish line for his recruitment.
Five programs remain standing for the four-star linebacker from Toledo, Ohio, and a decision date is set. Gant announced Monday that his finalists are Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State and Michigan State with plans to make a commitment May 16.
“I would like to thank everyone who has helped me get to this point, Gant released via Twitter, “and I would like to thank every school that has recruited me to this point. It has been an honor and a blessing.”
Boston College, Cincinnati, Duke, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, UCLA, Virginia and Wisconsin were among the other programs to offer a scholarship.
Gant is fresh off a visit to Michigan. He saw Ohio State on Feb. 20 and visited Notre Dame for Junior Day on Feb. 11. He gave the Irish another positive review at that point.
“I had a good time with the recruits and players and coaches and all,” Gant told Irish Illustrated after the trip. “We got to tour around a little bit and got to talk to a bunch of the coaches as well.”
