April 22, 6:42 p.m. – The Ademilola twins are firmly committed to Notre Dame

April 22, 6:22 p.m. – 2019 Ohio defensive end Steven Faucheux is one of the best sophomores at his position in the Midwest. He enjoyed his visit to South Bend and should return in the future, possibly with an offer in hand.

April 22, 6:18 p.m. – Linebacker commit Ovie Oghoufo wants Ohio linebacker Dallas Gant in the linebacker room with him in South Bend.

April 22, 6:15 p.m. – 2019 tight end Spencer Klopfenstein is being recruited by Notre Dame and was at the Blue-Gold Game today. He has some work to do on his overall game, but is talented nonetheless.

April 22, 6:14 p.m. – Wide receiver commit Micah Jones has three big names in mind.

Chase Cota is one of the top wide receivers in the west. He received an offer from Notre dame on March 31. He was also offered by Alabama yesterday. Braden Lenzy, and others, were in his ear all day long.

April 22, 3:22 p.m. – WR commit Braden Lenzy is already a celebrity in South Bend.

April 22, 2:17 p.m. – Two of the best in the west. Braden Lenzy was planning on being locked next to Chase Cota all day. We’ll soon find out how things went in South Bend.

April 22, 1:27 p.m. – Cornerback recruit Cagan Campbell enjoying his first trip to Notre Dame. Campbell is probably has a little way to go before getting an offer. That said, he runs a legit 4.43 and produces in 6A Alabama high school football.

I spoke with him as soon as he left campus. Mike Elko talked to him about working on his back peddle.

April 22, 12:31 p.m. - Defensive tackle recruit Ja’mion Franklin is tuning in to the big game.

April 22, 12:14 p.m. – Michigan 2019 OLB/SS strapped on a golden dome for a photo opportunity. I spoke with Beydoun earlier in the week and he said, “Notre Dame is a dream school for me.”

April 22, 10:57 a.m. - St. Peter’s Prep is well represented in South Bend. The Jersey City, NJ, prep program was home to starting quarterback Brandon Wimbush. Irish commits Justin and Jayson Ademilola and top recruit Shayne Simon are current juniors at SPP.

April 22, 10:47 a.m. – Although Cleveland Heights HS defensive end Tyreke Smith couldn’t make it to the Blue-Gold Game, he’s still thinking about Notre Dame today. Smith is in Dallas at a basketball tournament.

April 22, 7:25 a.m. - Spencer Brown (Walled Lake, MI) is a towering 6-foot-6, 300-pound defensive end, who may play offensive tackle in college. He’s on campus with his fellow sophomore teammate, Sam Johnson. Both are 2019 recruits.

April 22, 8:35 a.m. – Notre Dame’s equipment crew readies the locker room for the Blue-Gold Game.

April 21, 9:28 p.m. – Offensive line signees Josh Lugg and Dillon Gibbons are in South Bend for the Blue-Gold Game. The Irish completed a strong offensive line class on February 1. Offensive lineman Robert Hainsey and Aaron Banks enrolled early and will play today.

April 21, 11:27 p.m. – Georgia cornerback recruit received another edit from the Notre Dame staff via Twitter on Friday night. The three-star high school free safety racked up 86 tackles in his junior season. He shows great speed and tackling ability.

Birdsong told Irish Illustrated this week that he has high hopes for an Irish offer this weekend. If he gets one, he may commit.

April 21, 7:40 p.m. – Owings Mills (Maryland) McDonogh defensive tackle P.J. Mustipher is certainly one of the top recruits who will be in attendance at the Blue-Gold Spring Game. Irish Illustrated’s intel is that the top-100 overall talent is most considering Notre Dame and Ohio State.

Sam Mustipher, P.J.’s brother, is the starting center at Notre Dame (and who he is referring to in his tweet). How much this kinship plays a factor in his recruitment, remains to be seen. That said, you have to think it help Notre Dame’s chances.

Mayfield is certainly on Irish Illustrated’s offer watch.

The two are very familiar with each other as the two stars have competed in different football and track events in the west.

April 21, 12:30 p.m. – Jalen Mayfield is Scout’s top-ranked offensive tackle recruit in Michigan’s 2018 class. The explosive two-way lineman not only dominates on the offensive line, he also finished with 79 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 14.5 sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery, on defense.

April 20, 9:29 p.m. – Notre Dame’s lone defensive end commit, Justin Ademilola of St. Peter’s Prep in Jersey City, New Jersey, continues to push the long-term success that a Notre Dame degree can provide.
