Crews Names His Top Five

Paul Crews had an impressive junior season playing cornerback for his North Vance HS team. He's looking to have an even bigger senior campaign. Big time schools have slowly taken notice of Crews. IrishEyes caught up with Crews to talk recruiting.

Paul Crews, the 5'10 CB prospect from Henderson NC has been hearing from some big time programs. "Right now I hear from Virginia, Florida State, North Carolina, Miami, and most of the ACC schools" said Crews. His stats from last year indicate why he has received all the attention. Crews finished his junior season with 46 solo tacklets, and 50 assisted tackles to go along with his eight interceptions.

With all of the attention, what school's have really impressed Crews? "I'd say the top five schools I'm looking at right now are Virginia, Florida State, North Carolina, N.C. State, and South Carolina" said Crews. "They're all about even, but Virginia has shown me the most attention."

Has Crews heard from Notre Dame? "No, I haven't heard from Notre Dame. I'd like to though. They have a good program so I would like to hear from them."

Crews is a very confident young man, and knows what he's looking for in a possible school. "I'm looking for a place that has a stable staff. I want the staff to be able to make me a better player. Their system will also be important to me. Besides the staff and the system, the student and team surroundings will be important too. I want to go to a place I feel comfortable. Early playing time won't hurt either."

Don't look for Crews to make a decision soon. "I'm just going to take my time, and weigh all my options."

Comments: It doesn't appear Notre Dame is going to recruit Crews. One possible reason could be academics. Crews boasts a 2.4 GPA, and has yet to take the SAT or ACT. Crews was a very nice kid to talk with, and I wish him luck on his decision. Top Stories
