Notre Dame can add a trio of defensive standouts to its Irish Invasion list.
Jayson and Justin Ademilola will be in South Bend on June 10 for the Irish Invasion camp along with four-star teammate, Shayne Simon, Irish Illustrated has learned. All three have already booked airfare for the event.
Getting these three defensive recruits on campus for the event is a huge win for the Irish for a number of reasons.
The Ademilola twins, especially four-star defensive tackle Jayson, have been receiving heavy interest from strong programs, including Alabama, Clemson, and Ohio State.
A return visit to the program they committed to nearly one year ago is a strong sign that they are firm in their commitment to the Irish.
With the addition of Mike Elko’s 4-2-5 defensive scheme, adding a rangy linebacker-safety hybrid is crucial.
Scout’s No. 151 overall recruit, Simon is Notre Dame’s top target for the rover position. The Irish visited St. Peter’s Prep to get a closer look at the 6-foot-3, 215-pound athlete, early in the evaluation period. Elko let it be known that Simon is a priority recruit for their talent-laden defensive class.
Simon was recently invited to The Opening Finals in Beaverton, Ore., which will take place in one month.
Irish Illustrated caught up with Simon recently, who said he will narrow his list in short order. Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Rutgers and UCLA are the schools included in his current group.
It’s widely speculated that his recruitment will come down to a Michigan-Notre Dame battle. Simon has family ties to Michigan while having program ties to Notre Dame.
The Irish will have a chance to bolster their recruitment with Simon while evaluating him on the field against top competition.
All three St. Peter’s Prep attendees will compete in the skills portion of the event.
