At 6'0, 190lbs with a blazing 4.34 40 time, Doug Dutch is being pursued by all the big time programs across the nation. Why? Because Dutch is a threat to take it the distance every time he touches the ball. Through two games, his Gonzaga Prep HS team is 1-1, and Dutch has 2 catches for 40 yards, an interception which he returned 80 yards for a touchdown, and he's averaging 45 yards per kickoff return.
Dutch has an impressive list of schools he's considering. With all of the offers on the table, has Dutch narrowed down his list of possible schools? "I don't have a top 5 yet" said Dutch. "But the main schools I'm considering are Miami, Florida, Virginia, Tennessee, Pitt, Notre Dame, Michigan, and Maryland. I've set up official visits to Miami, Florda, Virginia, and Michigan. I'll decide between Notre Dame, Tennessee, and Pitt who will get the fifth visit."
Notre Dame remains in the equation for now, and Dutch has been in contact with Coach Willingham. "I speak to Coach Willingham once a week" said Dutch. "He's a real cool dude. He's very down to earth, and straight to the point. He really knows what he's talking about, and he's going to get the program going in the right direction."
Don't expect Dutch to commit anytime soon. "I'm going to take all 5 of my visits. Even if I'm tempted to commit to a school, I'm going to wait and take all my visits. I want to consider all options before I decide."
Comments: Will Coach Willingham be able to get Dutch to visit? That's the big question right now. Notre Dame is behind right now, but things could change if Dutch decides to visit. IrishEyes will keep you updated on who Dutch decides to give the fifth visit.
