Walker Sets Tenative Visit to Notre Dame

<P>Buford, GA running back Darius Walker has had a great start to his senior season. The 6-0, 190-pound running back has his team off to a 2-0 start marching on their way to another State Championship. Walker has also started to set up a few official visits. When will he visit Notre Dame?

Darius Walker has led his team to a 2-0 mark so far. "I've only played in the first half in both games. We beat the first team 45-0 and the second team 52-0 so I haven't played a whole lot. I rushed for 102 yards on 13 carries in the first game. I had 126 yards on six carries in the second game. I had two touchdowns each in both games."

12 yards per carry is probably why Walker has over 50 offers so far. Everyone wants Walker and he's had to start narrowing down his list. "I've set an official visit to Stanford on January 9th. It's not really official yet but it looks like I'll be going to Notre Dame on January 23rd. I had planned to take some visits during the season but it most likely looks like I won't be doing that this year."

Walker said he has narrowed his list down to a manageable number. "Tennessee, Alabama, Nebraska, Ohio State, USC, Miami, Arkansas and probably Georgia Tech," was his response when asked what other teams he's considering.

The phone has been ringing off the hook for Walker be he says he hasn't let that get in the way of anything. "Yeah, it's been ringing like crazy. I haven't really been thinking about recruiting. I've been trying to get this team rolling so we can have a good season. I really haven't had much time to think about recruiting. I'll probably decide sometime in late January."

Comments. It would help if he came in earlier but Walker's team will probably play for the State Championship and he won't be able to come in earlier. The Irish are very much in the race right now. Looks like this race will go down to the wire.
