Toal Still Planning to Visit Notre Dame

Ramsey, NJ prospect, Brian Toal, has had a solid senior season so far. The 6-1, 220-pound athlete is being recruited as a linebacker by most schools. Toal hasn't scheduled any visit so far, but he does plan to take an official visit to Notre Dame.

Brian Toal is having a solid season so far. "We're 6-0 right now," said Toal. "I have 22 touchdowns but I don't know my yards. I have 64 tackles, 5 1/2 sacks and two blocked punts so far."

Toal says he hasn't schedule any official visits as of yet. "I'm kind of working on that right now. I think I'll take my first on in the second week in December. I started to narrow it down, but I couldn't."

So who are the lucky schools Toal is considering? "Miami, Virginia tech, Tennessee, Boston College, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Oregon and Maryland."

Toal says he doesn't have a leader but thinks he's certain he'll visit two schools. "I really don't have a leader right now. I know I'll visit Miami for sure, and Notre Dame. After that,I really don't know who I will visit."

The Notre Dame coaches have been in constant contact with Toal this year. "I just spoke to Coach Willingham last night. We talked about the season. He seemed real positive that they would be turning it around soon and they would end up on their feet at the end of the season. He just wants me to take a good look at Notre Dame."

The Irish take on Boston College this week. Toal's brother Greg plays for the Eagles. Which team will he be cheering for? "Boston College, definitely. This is probably his favorite game of the year. He said it's a wild game."

Toal says he plans to set up his visits in the next three weeks.

Comments. The Irish are still hanging in there with Toal. We still feel Miami is the team to beat, and always has been. Hopefully the Irish can get a visit from him. He's said all along, he'll take a visit there.
