Grixby Might Visit Notre Dame

Omaha Central high school has produced a number of top prospects over the years. The next in line is athlete Cortney Grixby. Grixby plays quarterback and cornerback in high school but most see him playing defense at the next level. The Irish are interested and want Grixby to take a visit to Notre Dame.

Cortney Grixby has had a rough start to his senior season. "We're 2-5 right now," said Grixby. "I don't have my stats. My coach has them."

Grixby already has nine offer so far. "Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa, Iowa State, Nebraska, Colorado, UCLA, Minnesota and Wyoming have offered me so far."

Notre Dame has also been in contact with Grixby. "I haven't talked to this this week, but I did last week. My Coach said he's been in contact with Coach Willingham. They want me to take an official visit there. Right now, I'm thinking about it."

Grixby has already visited one school officially. "I already went to Iowa on an official visit. I liked it a lot. I had a real good time there. I like Coach Ferentz and all their coaching staff. It was a nice place."

The Nebraska native says he knows he'll take a visit to his home school. "I'll visit Nebraska for sure. Then it will probably be UCLA, Notre Dame and Kansas State."

Most Omaha Central players end up at Nebraska, just like his brother Deante who is a fullback at Nebraska. "I'm really more open than most Central kids. I'm open for anything and will listen to anyone. I just want to find the right school for me so I'm going to look at everyone."

Grixby is also a standout in basketball as a point guard. "I still want to play basketball. Every school recruiting me said I could play both."

Comments: Cortney remains open and I do think the Irish can get him to visit. Nebraska is always tough to beat for any Nebraska kid, but we feel Grixby is more open to his options than most Nebraska kids. Still, the Huskers will likely be the team to beat for his signature. Top Stories
