Jae Thaxton is having a fantastic senior season so far. "My team is 5-3 right now," said Thaxton. "I've been playing pretty good. I have 127 tackles, and two sacks so far."
Thaxton's been busy with his season so he hasn't set many visits yet. "I have the one visit scheduled to Notre Dame on January 23rd. I haven't set any others, but I've been talking to some schools. We haven't set them officially yet, but I've talked to Georgia, Miami and Florida State about setting visits."
The Georgia native says he will be taking all his visits after his season. "I will set them up soon, but they will be after my season. I plan on taking all five right now, but that could change. I'm not sure on who will get the last visit. There's a lot of schools that I'm considering."
The Irish have been keeping in contact with Thaxton. "I talked to Coach Simmons last week. We mainly talk about their program, and what I can do to help them. We talk about life in Indiana. If Notre Dame is the school I want to go to, I can probably manage the distance. It won't be that far away."
We asked Jae if the down season the Irish seem to be having effects his thoughts on Notre Dame. "It doesn't effect me that much. Maybe I can come in there and help them turn it around. It doesn't effect me much."
Comments: The Irish are still in the race with Thaxton. We do think they have some ground to make up. We never know how southern kids will react to Notre Dame until they visit. The most important thing for the Irish is to get him on campus. Hopefully they can continue to keep him interested until the visit. He's having an outstanding season.
