Walker Loves Visit to Notre Dame

Buford, GA prospect, Darius Walker, recently took an unofficial visit to Notre Dame for the Florida State game. The 6-0, 190-pound running back is having a big senior season. What did Walker think of Notre Dame?

Darius Walker continues on his charge to the State Championship. "We're 8-0 right now," said Walker. "I'm now over 1,300 yards and have 24 touchdowns." Walker has rushed for 1,300 yards without playing in the second half in most games.

Walker visited Notre Dame last weekend for the Florida State game. "It was spectacular. We had a grand time. Everything about it was amazing. I had a great time meeting the coaches and the alumni."

Another highlight for Wallker was the walk from mass to the stadium. "The atmosphere was awesome. They have so much backing from their fans. When we walked to the stadium, I've never seen anything like it."

Walker also got to spend time with Coach Willingham. "He just told me how much I was needed. I was very impressed with him."

The Georgia native said he and Willingham talked about the season the Irish are having. "We talked about it. I look at it as most of their offensive linemen are freshman and sophomores. They are in their learning and should be a dominant line soon. They're are just young and maybe I can be the guy that comes in there and be the impact player they need to turn it around."

Walker also was able to meet some of the players. "I got to talk to them about campus life and school there. They were all very nice. You can tell they are all very intellectual, down to earn, and intelligent."

Does Walker think Notre Dame would be a good fit for him. "I think it could be a good fit for me, I really do. I could definitely see myself going to school there."

Walker still has his visits set up for Ohio State on December 6th, Stanford January 9th, and Notre Dame on January 23rd. He said he was undecided on his final visits.

Comments: A very good sign that he came for this visit. An even better sign that he really seemed to enjoy it. The Irish look to be in great shape for Walker.
