Grixby Will Set Official Visit to Notre Dame

Omaha Central prospect, Cortney Grixby, recently received an official offer from Notre Dame. The 5-9, 165-pound corner prospect has a host of offers and has set up some official visits already. Grixby says he will schedule a visit to Notre Dame very soon. Where do the Irish stand with Grixby?

Notre Dame recently offered Cortney Grixby, and Grixby said he was happy about that. "I was really excited," said Grixby about the Irish offer. "They told me they were really interested. When I got the letter, I was really excited."

Grixby also received a call from Tyrone Willingham after the letter arrived. "He was real upfront and I liked that. He told me about Notre Dame and what they expect from their players. He asked me questions about myself, and he answered all my questions about Notre Dame. I really liked talking to him. They have a strong tradition. I really like Coach Willingham as a coach and a person."

The Omaha, NE native says he hasn't set an official visit to Notre Dame yet. "I haven't set a visit yet. We are in the process of doing that right now. I will visit there for sure."

Grixby has already been to Iowa and has a visit set for Nebraska on November 15th for the Kansas State game. "I will be setting up visits to ULCA and Notre Dame. I don't know who I will visit for my fifth visit."

Comments: The Irish and Willingham made a very positive impression with the offer and phone call. Grixby is more open than most Nebraska kids. If a Nebraska kid doesn't commit early to NU, they are usually more open to listen to other schools. The Irish might have a shot at this very quick, and elusive player. Top Stories
