Richard Playing the Waiting Game

Defensive line prospect Darryl Richard has put his recruiting on hold as he's leading his team into the playoffs. Richard had plan to take some visits this month but that has all been put on hold. When can we expect a decision from Richard?

Darryl Richard is having a big season for Destrehan high school. "My team is 8-2 right now," said Richard. "I have 80 tackles, 26 tackles for loss, and 11 sacks so far."

The Louisiana native has had to change his recruiting plans lately. "I'm holding off on my visits right now. I had some visits scheduled but I had to cancel them because we're in the playoffs. I'm still looking at a number for schools. Miami, Stanford, Georgia Tech, Colorado, UCLA, LSU and Tulane are the schools I'm still considering."

Richard did take his official visit to Notre Dame and we asked him what his thoughts were about Notre Dame now that he's had a chance to digest the visit. "I liked Notre Dame a lot. They treated me real well. The distance won't be a factor at all. It seems like a real nice place. Justin Tuck was my host and he was real cool. We seemed to have a lot in common. I think Notre Dame could be a real nice place for me, but I have to take the rest of my visits."

Richard says he plans to take all five of his visits before making his decision.

Comments: Miami should be the main competition for Richard. He likes Notre Dame quite a bit, but Miami looms large. We'll keep and eye on him. Top Stories
