Mbakogu Sets Visits

Phillip Mbakogu has been a busy guy lately. He's bene trying to set his official visits, but has had to rearrange a few. The 6-3, 260-pound defensive end prospect hopes to have things finalized soon. Are the Irish still high on his list?

Phillip Mbakogu has finished his senior season. "I don't really know my stats," said Mbakogu. "I know I had 17 sacks, but I'm not sure on tackles right now."

Mbakogu has had to reschedule a few of his visits. "I was supposed to go see Kansas State this weekend, but they are playing in the Big 12 Championship game. I'm going on December 19th now. I was planning on visiting LSU on the 12, but I will have to change that until January now."

Mbakogu says he will also visit Cal and Oregon. "I have both schools coming on Tuesday. I will try to set the visits then. I'm looking forward to that."

The Irish remain high on his list. "Yeah, they are very high. I had a good time while I was out there. My host was Victor Abiamiri. He was a real cool guy. I liked it out there. They call me all the time."

Right now, the plan is to take all five of his visits. "I will take all five of my visits. I don't really have a favorite right now. I like all five of the schools I'm considering. I still plan to make my decision in February."

Comments: Mbakogu might be difficult to pry away from others. He will wait until February. He has said he would like to go to the same school as his teammate, Robert Jordan, a player the Irish are currently not recruiting. The Irish still have a chance, however, as Mbakogu still thinks very highly of Notre Dame.
