Brown Set For Visit to Alabama

Defensive line prospect David Brown is set to make his official visit to Alabama this weekend. Brown has also set up a few more official visits. We caught up with Brown to get his thoughts on recruiting, and where he might end up.

David Brown is set to visit Alabama this weekend. "They were the first school to offer me," said Brown of Alabama. "I never thought this day would come. This year has gone so fast. Alabama offered me on February 15th. 15 other schools have offered since there. It's been crazy. I never thought I would be in this position."

Brown has also scheduled a few more visits. "I'm going to Georgia Tech on December 12th, Georgia January 9th, and I just met with Vanderbilt and it looks like I'll be visiting there on January 16th."

Alabama and Notre Dame have been his favorites for a while. We asked Brown which team was leading right now. "I do like Alabama a lot, but I also like Notre Dame a lot. I'd say Notre Dame and Alabama are my leaders. Georgia is also real close. I had planned to make my decision before Christmas, but I think I'll take all five of my visits. I really can't say any one team is leading. It changes from week to week. Sometimes it changes by the day."

With December here, in-home visits heat up as well. "I had Coach Turner from Vanderbilt here tonight. I have three coaches from Georgia Tech coming tomorrow. I have Alabama on Wednesday. Coach Willingham was supposed to be coming on Sunday after my visit to Alabama. I'm not sure if I will be back in time. That would be his first in-home visit so that was a big surprise. I don't know if that is going to happen now."

We later found out later from David that Willingham will be at his home on Sunday after his official visit to Alabama.

Comments: It's down to crunch time with Brown. Alabama is the main competition for Brown. It's not a surprise that Willingham would want an in-home after his official visit to Alabama. We think this visit to Alabama will be critical in his decision. The Irish have a good shot to land him if they can get past this weekend. Don't count out Georgia either, however. Top Stories
