Young Receives Offer From Irish

Seattle athlete Chancellor Young has received an offer from Notre Dame. The 6-2, 205-pound athlete has also taken a visit to Washington. What did Young think of his offer from Notre Dame?

Chancellor Young just received an official offer from Notre Dame. "I just received it today," said Young of his offer. "I haven't even told my Mom about it yet, she just got home from work."

Young says that brings his total to three. "I have offers from Washington, Duke, and now Notre Dame."

He just returned from a visit to Washington so we asked him his thoughts on his visit. "It went pretty well. I got a chance to see the atmosphere you don't get to see when you are just there on campus. It was a nice visit. It could be a fit for me, but I still have a lot of other schools that I want to check out."

One school will likely be Notre Dame. "Coach McDonell stopped by the school. We are trying to set up an in-home visit for this week. I need to check with my parents to make sure the day works. We'll sit down and talk about a visit." Is it likely he will take a visit to Notre Dame? "Yes, I would say it's very likely."

Other schools are also interested in Young. "Oregon and UCLA are recruiting me heavily. Lately, USC has been recruiting me pretty heavily. I plan to take all five of my visits. I want to see all my opportunities before I make my decision, and give all the schools a chance."

Young said the Irish have been telling him they were recruiting him as a wide receiver.

Comments: The Irish have offered, and a visit is very likely. I get the feeling that he's very open, and Washington does not have him locked up. I think he will be very open to anyone that recruits him. He's always mentioned Notre Dame when asked about schools he's interested in which is a good sign. Top Stories
