McBath Sets Visit to Notre Dame

Another new name to mix is corner prospect Darcel McBath. The 6-1, 185-pound Texas native recently received an offer from Notre Dame, and he set an official visit to Notre Dame. What did McBath think of his offer from Notre Dame?

Darcel McBath is a new name to add to the mix. "I was pretty excited about the offer from Notre Dame," said McBath. "I didn't see that coming. I never thought I'd get an offer from them."

We asked McBath if the Irish had been recruiting him all season. "It's been more of a recent thing. I talked to them once or twice during the season, but that was about it. I was surprised when I found out they were offering me."

McBath has also set some of his official visits. "I'm visiting Texas Tech on January 16th. I then go right to Texas A&M on January 18th. I then have Notre Dame on January 23rd. I might visit Oklahoma State. I haven't set that yet."

The Irish will have to impress Darcel's Mom when they visit. "I haven't had an in-home visit yet. They came by the school and watched my basketball game. My Mom kind of wants me to stay close to home so she likes Texas A&M and Texas Tech. But, she said she would be fine if I went that far away from home. She says she is fine with me going out of state. She said the decision was up to me."

McBath also had an impressive senior season. "I had 79 tackles and six interceptions on defense. I played wide receiver on offense to help out the team. I think I had 46 receptions, 875 yards, and 14 touchdowns. I love defense though. Playing offense was fun, but I like defense. I would rather hit someone than get hit."

Irish fans will have to wait a bit for his decision. "I want to take all my visits before deciding. I will probably take four, but I'm not sure. I don't really have a leader at this point. I want to take my visits and then I'll decide."

Comments: The Irish appear to be in good shape with McBath. He would fit in well at Notre Dame. He seems very interested in the Irish. I like the fact that Notre Dame hasn't had an in-home visit yet. I think Notre Dame has a good shot to land him. Top Stories
