Wolke Sets Three More Visits

Tennessee quaterback David Wolke has set three more official visits. The 6-1 190-pound Smyrna, Tennessee native is hoping for an offer from Notre Dame. Do the Irish have a good chance to sign Wolke?

David Wolke has set three more official visits. "I've already been to Wake Forest," said Wolke. "I have a visit to Florida on January 16th, Notre Dame on January 23rd, and Kentucky on January 30th. Florida and Notre Dame have not offered me yet."

Wolke has already had an in-home visit with one Irish coach. "Coach Diedrick came by. He's a great guy. He said the only quarterback they've offered is Brian Brohm. He said they were going to wait and see what he did and I'm second on the list. He told me they would either offer me before my official visit or during my official visit there."

Wake Forest made a good impression with Wolke. "I liked it there a lot. I wouldn't say they are my leader yet. I haven't been to Notre Dame yet. I haven't been on my other visits. I've talked to the coaches at Wake Forest. I've been to the campus and seen what it's like there with the players. I haven't spoken to Tyrone Willingham yet."

Is Wolke highly interested in Notre Dame? I very well am. It was a surprise when they started recruiting me. It's a great football program. I felt really good about them recruiting me."

We asked Wolke what some of his strengths are as a quarterback. "I hate to brag on myself, I really do. I think I can run and well as throw. I read coverage very well. I can usually pick apart a defense. I've played out of the shotgun, under center, play-action passes, I've run the option. I've gotten my speed down to 4.6. I'm also an agressive player. I like to talk a lot of smack."

When will Wolke be making his decision. "Probably on signing day. I have a visit on the 30th, so probably on signing day."

Comments: The Irish appear to be in good shape with Wolke if they offer. He seems very high on Notre Dame. We'll have to wait and see what Brohm is going to do before we know about Wolke.
