Adam Speer Looking To Make Decision

West Hills, CA standout offensive lineman, Adam Speer, played in the Cal-Florida game last week, starting at offensive center against some of the nations top athletes. With his senior season over, he has turned his attention to recruiting and where he'll wind up come this fall. Irish Eyes caught up with him to see how everything was progressing for the 6'3", 265lb lineman.

Playing along California's top football players, Adam Speer was a standout at Offensive Center and we asked him how it went for him. "I had a lot of fun," he said. "It was a good experience. It was fun playing with some of the best players. I thought I did pretty well. It made me feel pretty good and I think I can go for a starting position wherever I go next year.

Although Adam played very well for himself, he realizes what he needs to do for the off season. "Just getting bigger," he said. "I was sort of the smaller lineman being 6'3", which was kind of surprising. Mainly a lot of the guys were 6'5", so my strength and quickness helps. I just have to keep improving."

And his college choices at the moment? "Right now, I'm down to Oregon State, UCLA, and Duke," he confessed.

Though he is down to his final choices for schools, he still has some trips to figure out his final decision. "I still have a couple of more trips," he said. "I have Oregon State this (past) weekend, Duke, and maybe Navy."

Though he camped at Notre Dame this past summer, we wondered if the Irish staff have contacted him at all. "No," he said. "I haven't talked to them since the starting of the year."

When will he make a decision? "Probably next week or the week after," he said. Top Stories
