Nate Lyles visited Oregon this past weekend. "I had a good time there," said Lyles. "They have good facilities, it's a good school, and I like the coaching staff there." Would the distance be a problem for Lyles? "No, I'm just looking for a comfortable place. I don't think too much about the distance. I'd be willing to make that sacrifice if I find the right school for me."
Lyles has taken official visits to Boston College, Iowa, Virginia and Oregon so far. We asked Nate if he has started to narrow it down. "Not really, I haven't really started to do that. I'm still interested in all the schools." We then asked if he might have an idea, but isn't ready to name a leader at this point. "No, I really haven't started to do that. I've said all along that I'd take all my visits, and then I'd sit down and compare them all."
The Irish had been trying to set an in-home visit with Lyles. "They were trying to call me, but I was gone. I might have some in-home visits after my visit this weekend. I'm not sure yet if I will do that."
When can we expect a decision from Nate? "I'd say shortly after my visit. I hope to have that done within a week or so."
Comments: The Irish get the last visit. Earlier in the process it appeared the Irish were the team to beat. Lyles appears wide open at this point. We'll know more after his visit to Notre Dame.
